2022 New Brunswick Engineering Excellence Awards

​​The New Brunswick Engineering Excellence Awards celebrates and promotes the provision of exemplary consulting engineering services locally, nationally, and internationally.
​
The event further serves to educate the general public and highlight the valuable contributions of New Brunswick’s Consulting Engineers in their work at home and abroad. Please consider this opportunity to highlight your company’s exceptional engineering accomplishments within a public forum for the recognition it deserves, amongst peers, the public, and clients.

Awards
ACEC-NB is calling for submissions for the following awards in 2022:
​
5 – Engineering Excellence Awards will be presented, one of which is the Pinnacle Award – which is the top ranked entry deemed to demonstrate consulting engineering excellence by the Judging Panel.

1 – Power of Collaboration Award – this award will be presented to the project team that best exemplifies the collaboration between owner/ architect/ engineer/ contractor to produce engineering achievements that exhibit excellence in their fields.

President’s Award – is awarded annually by the ACEC-NB president and recognizes individuals for their lifetime contributions to the advancement of the consulting engineering profession and industry in New Brunswick

Young Professionals Award – recognizes an individual in the first ten years of their career who has contributed to the consulting engineering industry, shown leadership within their company and the industry, demonstrated excellence in consulting business practices, demonstrated commitment to the delivery of quality projects or results, accomplished outstanding achievements in their applicable fields, and shown leadership in the community.

Submissions & Nominations

Eligibility Criteria for the ACEC-NB Engineering Excellence Award

This award will be presented to the project team that best exemplifies excellence in their field.
  • Only members in good standing of ACEC-NB are eligible to receive awards.
  • Participants shall acknowledge all other team members involved including the owner, prime consultant(s), contractors etc.
  • The project submitted (or, the assignment for which the applicant is seeking an award) shall have been completed during the 15-month period PRIOR to the date of submission (September 2020 – December 2021).
  • An agreement to participate in the award program and permission to use project details, photographs, etc. must be obtained from the client/owner prior to the submission (this does not have to be included in the submission).
  • There is no limitation or restriction on project size.
  • The projects submitted for the competition shall have been managed and largely completed in the New Brunswick office of the member.
  • If this project was part of a Joint Venture (JV) with a firm outside of New Brunswick – the New Brunswick firm must have been the designer of record for the project.
  • No additions or modifications to the entry are allowed after delivery.










Submissions for the 2022 ACEC-NB 2021 Engineering Excellence Awards  can be completed here.

A registration fee per firm of $250 + HST is required and can include up to 3 project submissions per firm. ACEC-NB will send you an invoice once your submission is received.

Eligibility Criteria for the Power of Collaboration Award
This award will be presented to the project team that best exemplifies the collaboration between owner/architect/engineer/contractor to produce achievements that exhibit excellence in their fields.
  • Only members in good standing of the AANB (must be a resident firm in New Brunswick), CANB and ACEC-NB are eligible to receive awards.
  • Participants shall acknowledge all other team members involved including the owner, prime consultant(s), contractors etc.
  • The design and construction element of the project submitted (or, the assignment for which the applicant is seeking an award) shall have been completed during the 15-month period PRIOR to the date of submission (September 2020 – December 2021).
  • An agreement to participate in the award program and permission to use project details, photographs, etc. must be obtained from the client/owner prior to the submission (this does not have to be included in the submission).
  • There is no limitation or restriction on project size however the project must have been completed in New Brunswick within the time period noted above.
  • The projects submitted for the competition shall have been managed and largely completed in the New Brunswick office of the member.
  • If this project was part of a Joint Venture (JV) with a firm outside of New Brunswick – the New Brunswick firm must have been the designer of record for the project.
  • No additions or modifications to the entry are allowed after delivery.

Selection 
The Judging Panel will be comprised of esteemed members of Client Groups, Professional Associations, and Universities.  Judges will have the discretion to rank all submissions based on the following criteria:
  • Project objectives, solutions and achievements
  • Technical excellence and innovation
  • Environmental, economic and social sustainability
  • Diversity and Inclusion
Each project will be evaluated on the above criteria from 1-10, with 10 being the highest possible score for each of the criteria.  The criteria are weighted equally.  The highest possible score for any submission is 40 points.  The projects with the top 5 highest scores will receive Engineering Excellence Awards.

The decision by the jury is final.

Notify Winners                          February 21, 2022
