Advocacy

Picture
Our purpose is to serve the interests of members through advocacy, creating opportunity for collaboration and building the profile of members and the industry.

Since 1982 ACEC-NB has proudly served as the voice for the consulting engineering industry and its business interests across the province.

As the voice of the consulting engineering sector in New Brunswick,
our foremost objective is to focus on the key issues affecting our
member firms and to ensure their perspectives are accurately and
effectively represented.

Locally, ACEC-NB advocated for: implementing fair, transparent, and efficient procurement processes (including modifications to the DTI procurement framework agreement by charging rates by names to rates by classification category for engineers and technicians), Alternative Delivery Models (ex. Progressive Design Build), managing and supporting the workforce, improving stakeholder relationships, and incorporation of AI into business practices.

Nationally, ACEC-NB advocated for developing and implementing a National Infrastructure Assessment (NIA), creating a long-term funding program to close Canada’s current infrastructure deficit and address immediate needs, establishing a National Infrastructure Corridor to capitalize on Canada’s resources and create long-term economic independence and prosperity, championing innovative project procurement and delivery models for nationbuilding infrastructure, and modifying Policy PN-48R2 concerning official languages and federal procurement.
