Fair & Ethical Practices
Practicing engineering professionals in the Province are bound by the Engineering and Geoscience Professions Act (1999), related By Laws and Code of Ethics (2011) as regulated by the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick (APEGNB). The professional engineers working in the field have strived and pledged, while entering the profession, to “hold paramount the safety, health and welfare of the public and the protection of the environment […]”, as stated in the Act. The pledge is part of an admission into and sustained good standing within the profession and professional engineers must stand by the oath diligently in all respects to the profession. Consulting engineers in New Brunswick have a story to share about their contributions to society. Through their projects, they generate economic wealth, create safe and sustainable communities, and help protect the environment to name but a few.
